Friends of the Library Offer Book to Newborns
By EOMC Staff

The Friends of the Patrick Lynch Public Library and Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center’s hospital auxiliary has launched Books Babies.

According to Gerri Roberts, all mothers who give birth at EOMC will receive a Patrick Lynch Library baby packet, the packet will consist of a book “Read to Me” Included in the bag will be a baby bib, baby spoon and information about the library.

The reason is to encourage mothers to read to their children.

This is the first time the library and the EOMC auxiliary have worked together to reach new mothers as soon as they have a baby. “We have purchased enough books in both English and Spanish to serve every baby born at EOMC with the entire year,” said Roberts.

The goody bags were delivered to EOMC on Thursday afternoon, to be distributed to all newborns.
