EOMC AUXILIARY AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

Recently the EOMC Auxiliary awarded 6 scholarships for the 2007/2008 school year. The candidates are required to be an employee, an employee’s child, or grandchild of Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center. The criteria base for the scholarship is to attend the school of their choice full-time and maintain a 3.0 grade average.

This years recipients were: Michael Brock Vise, 2007 graduate of Poteau High School entering the CASC Radiology Program, Jennifer Hebert, 2007 graduate of Poteau High School currently attending CASC, Ami Hess, BSRT, employed at EOMC entering the Radiology Physicians Assistant/Practitioner Program in Ogden, Utah, Megan McDaniel, 2007 graduate of Panama High School entering CASC in the Elementary Education Field, Mari Lyn Wright, 2007 graduate of Porum High School entering CASC in the Journalism/Photography Program, and Edward Wemmerus, ER Tech, employed at EOMC entering CASC RN Program.

Each of the awardees was presented with a $1,000 check to assist them in the completion of their education.

The EOMC Auxiliary is a non-profit organization and manages the hospital's gift shop. The volunteer program conducts fund raising activities throughout the year. The Auxiliary supports EOMC with volunteer labor and capital in order to help further the mission of the hospital. There are 60 active members in the auxiliary and Betty Scott is the president for the 2007–2009 year. IF you are interested in becoming a volunteer please call Betty at 918 647 4949.
