Our Surgical and Post Anesthesia Care Unit are modern surgical suites, which are staffed by nurses and certified nurse anesthetists, working under the supervision of our surgeons. Following surgery, patients are taken into the adjoining Post Anesthesia Care Unit for observations until their surgeon judges them well enough for release, based on guidelines provided by the American Society of Anesthesia.
Our outpatient department is staffed with a registered nurse and is open from 6:30 a.m. till 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our surgery department is staffed with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse anesthetist and is operational 6:30 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patient Financial Services [Top]
It is very important that you have your insurance identification cards with you when you are admitted to or are having testing at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center. This enables us to provide proper billing, verify insurance benefits promptly and obtain pre-approval for HMO patients before receiving services.
You will be asked upon admission to pay any insurance co-payment or deductible not covered by your insurance. If you do not have insurance, you will be asked to pay for your services as they are rendered. We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash. As a courtesy to you, the hospital will bill your insurance company. If your insurance company requests additional information from you, please respond as soon as possible. A delay in returning the requested information will also delay payment to your account. If a Medicare beneficiary (non-HMO enrollee) is going to receive services that the facility believes to be non-covered items and/or services, an Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) will be given to the beneficiary in advance of furnishing these services. The approved ABN includes agreement to pay language as a matter of full disclosure to the beneficiary. A beneficiary who is properly notified and who receives a service that is subsequently denied payment for the reasons cited on the ABN can be held liable, whether or not the beneficiary agreed to make payment. The hospital will bill and appeal any denials from your insurance company as a courtesy to you.

Department of Health Information Management is responsible for the completion and filing of the patient's health care records, completion and filing of newborn birth certificates, and releasing to the requesting parties copies of the health care information authorized by patients.
OBTAINING COPY OF STATE BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Located on the web site is the application form(APPLICATION FOR SEARCH AND CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE). If you wish to apply for an Oklahoma Birth Certificate please print out the application and follow the instructions for completion of the form. FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION
Your personal health information is a valuable resource to you, your family, and the doctor, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who provide your treatment and care.
Located on the web site is an Authorization for Use or Disclosure of Protected Health Information. If you would like a copy of Protected Health Information sent to a healthcare provider, download the form, complete the form, and fax to the department of Health Information Management with contact phone number.
- Each of your healthcare providers compiles a separate medical record on you. This means your compete history probably cannot be found in any one place. By keeping your own personal health record (PHR), you can provide your doctors with valuable health information that can improve the quality of care you receive. A PHR can help reduce or eliminate duplicate tests and allow you to receive faster, safer treatments and care in an emergency.
- Federal Laws are in place to protect your privacy and give you access rights to your health information. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), you can view, request changes to, and obtain copies of health information collected and kept about you for an application charge as prescribed by State Law.
- Your information can only be seen by those who need it in order to provide your treatment, to facilitate payment for healthcare services, and to make sure quality care is being received. Your information may also be used for research and as a legal document in cares where evidence of care is needed. Anyone else who wants to use it for any other purpose needs your permission first.
- The healthcare industry and the federal government are working to improve healthcare through use of information technology. This is done through the use of electronic health records (EHRs) and a secure system that would allow EHRs to be shared across healthcare systems and providers to allow you greater access to your health records in paper format.
- At healthcare organizations across the nation, health information management professionals are working to maintain your health records. These professionals are responsible for ensuring your health record is accurate, complete, confidential, and available when you , your doctor, and other healthcare professionals need access to the information.
